About Rock Solid Stone Engraving
For more than 30 years, we have worked hands-on with genuine natural stone—selecting it, designing for it, sandblasting it, and finishing each piece one at a time in Bath, New York. Rock Solid Stone Engraving has now been in business for 25 years.

A different beginning
Many decorative stones begin as uniform manufactured blanks. Ours begin as real pieces of the earth, with natural edges, varied coloring, distinctive textures, and shapes that can never be duplicated exactly.
Quarrying our own stone gives us a connection to the material before any wording is added. We can look at each piece individually and decide what kind of design, message, and setting will allow it to look its best.

From the quarry
It is the reason every finished piece feels personal. Shape, surface, color, thickness, and edge detail vary from stone to stone. We do not try to erase that character—we design around it.
Thirty years of hands-on work
Every stage matters. The lettering must fit the stone, remain readable, and feel appropriate for the memory, home, garden, or entrance it represents.

Names, dates, sayings, and artwork are arranged around the usable surface and natural shape.

The approved design is transferred and sandblasted into the surface rather than simply printed on top.

Lettering or artwork is paint-filled when appropriate, then the completed piece is checked before pickup or shipping.
A real person behind the work
A memorial stone, family name, address marker, or garden saying often carries more meaning than the customer initially knows how to explain. That is why questions are welcome.
We help you work through the wording, approximate size, artwork, placement, and material so the finished stone feels right—not merely finished.
